These are real case studies that have been submitted to our parent company, Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP).

Discovered by a family member

The complaint was submitted through the JCCP online complaints portal. It alleged that the practitioner had provided lip filler treatment to a family member and raised worries about injecting underage girls and their well-being, specifically those aged between 16 and 17 years old.

The practitioner was reported to the Advertising Standards Authority, as well as to the local Trading Standards and Humberside Police.

The power of social media

An individual expressed worries about a local practitioner administering injections to underage girls. The concern arose when the practitioner was tagged in a photo with a young girl. The girl's age was verified through her social media account, confirming she was only 16 years old.

Recognising clear safeguarding concerns, JCCP reported the incident to the Newark and Sherwood District Council for further investigation.
